“America” was stolen on September 14, 2019.
“America” is an 18-karat solid gold toilet worth more than $6 million. It used to be in Blenheim Palace, Britain (the birthplace of Winston Churchill).
The room in which the toilet sat was right next to the room where future Prime Minister Churchill was born on November 30, 1874.
The Creator of ‘America’
The toilet, which Blenheim Palace said was fully functional and open to the public to use, is a piece of artwork created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan.
The gold toilet has not (yet) been found.
The toilet’s creator, Cattelan, has this message for the bling bandits:
“Dear thieves, please, if you are reading this, let me know how much you like the piece and how it feels to pee on gold.”
